Social Media Tips
Ok, let’s get to these social media tips…

1) Have you noticed your engagement dropping, follower count declining, or photos not showing up in hashtags on Instagram?

According to Later, You might be a victim of the mysterious Instagram shadowban. This is not completely new, but very few people know about it.

Behavior as innocent as using the same hashtag repeatedly could hide all of your Instagram posts from people who aren’t following you!

A shadowban hides your Instagram posts from users who don’t follow you, which can be detrimental to growing your account and getting more followers. More specifically, if you get shadowbanned on Instagram and use hashtags in your post, only you and your current followers will see your post when they search for the hashtags you used. If someone who doesn’t follow your account searches for one of those hashtags, they won’t be able to see your post! Which basically defeats the whole purpose of using strategic hashtags to grow your Instagram community.

Getting shadowbanned can be a big problem. It basically means that you won’t be able to reach users who don’t already follow you. As a result, your follower growth and engagement rate could stagnate or even decline. And if you use Instagram for business, it can mean fewer customers and revenue!

How to Avoid the Instagram Shadowban:

1. Be mindful of the hashtags you’re using

2. Stop using bots and auto-posting software

3. Change up your hashtags in each post

2) Now you can follow hashtags on Instagram

Following a hashtag is just like following a friend. To get started, search for a topic you’re interested in or tap on a hashtag from any post. You’ll see relevant hashtags displayed in your search results along with related accounts. When you find a hashtag you like, open the hashtag page and tap on the follow button. You’ll begin seeing top posts from that hashtag in your feed and some of the latest stories in your stories bar. You can always unfollow a hashtag at any time.

Social Media Tips

This is a great and easy way to keep up with the hashtags that are relevant to your business.

1. See the top posts from your favorite hashtags.

2. View the latest hashtag stories.

3. Check out the hashtags people and other businesses are following in their profiles.

3) Instagram now allows businesses to schedule their posts

Social Media Tips

Instagram is allowing businesses on Instagram to schedule their posts. Before, there were unofficial means to aid with this – like tools that would send out a push notification to remind you to publish a post at a given time, for example. But no functionality was available in Instagram itself.

The closest Instagram got was the added support for Drafts, which allowed social media managers and other users to prep a post and save it for later publication.

Unfortunately, the official support for post scheduling is not directly available with Instagram itself. You will need to use a trusted 3rd party software to do this.

4) Instagram’s Carousel ad format is coming to Instagram Stories

Instagram is announcing plans to bring its Carousel Ads into Stories. That means the ads in Stories are no longer limited to one piece of media (which could be a photo or a video) — they can now include three.

Carousel Ads for Instagram Stories behave the same way as other Stories content, meaning you can tap through, swipe back and forth or pause the content whenever you’d like. Now with two additional pieces of media, your business can add depth to your storytelling in the same way the community does today.

5) Is your business missing out on an easy opportunity to make money?
